Escape rooms can be a great way to spend an evening. You get to interact with your friends and come together to solve a puzzle. However, with so many escape rooms popping up, you may find yourself wondering which one you should visit when planning a night out on the town. Here are a few of the factors you should consider to help you select the best escape room for you.

How Many People You Plan to Visit With

When you are planning to visit an escape room, take the time to determine how many people will be attending with you and then find a facility that best accommodates this number. Some escape rooms are designed for small groups, such as two to six people. Others are designed for larger groups, such as 12 to 15 people. If you have a small group and go to an escape room designed for large parties, you may struggle with the puzzles and tasks. Likewise, if you have a large party and go to a room designed for a small group, escaping may not be much of a challenge.

Facilitated Versus Non-Facilitated Escape Rooms

The majority of escape rooms give you a set period of time to solve the puzzles and escape. Some facilities offer facilitated escape room situations. If you get stuck or stumped on a puzzle, they may offer you clues. This allows you to progress in your task of escaping. Others offer no facilitation, meaning if you get stuck, you could stay on that one task the entire time you are in the room. Most people prefer the opportunity to advance the game, even if they get stuck, so this is something to keep in mind.

The Theme

Escape rooms are becoming more themed and complex as the become more popular and rooms are looking to set themselves apart. There are a variety of themes you may encounter, including themes based on movies, books and television shows. When selecting an escape room, pay close attention to the theme of the room. If it is something that does not appeal to you, you may not enjoy yourself as much as you would if you selected a theme that appeals to you.

There are many factors to consider when selecting an escape room. This includes considering the price per person or per group, the location of the themed room and their hours of availability. Considering all of this, in conjunction with the above factors, will help you hone in on the escape room experience that is ideal for you.
